If your buying or selling a home, one of the crucial items for inspection is the electrical system.

Your inspector will visually look outside at the electrical service entrance. We inspect both the inside and outside of the home and make sure there are no exposed open wires. Any outside receptacles should be GFCI protected. We test all available electrical receptacles to ensure there are no defects from fire or safety related items.

We look for overall quality of the electrical work in the home. If a licensed electrician installed the work, generally the electrical components will be properly installed. Work done by a homeowner or handyman may contain hidden defects.

Knowing the status of the electrical system is important as you decide whether to buy or sell the home in question. Replacement of the electrical system can cost $1000’s.
